PATIENT INFORMATION
APPOINTMENTS

Please call the surgery prior to your appointment to see how the doctor may be running. Reception staff can provide an estimate on wait times, as you can appreciate this is just an estimation and if the doctor feels a patient requires more time to provide the best care, they may run over the allocated appointment time.
Where possible we try to accommodate each patient’s request, we understand that patients like to see their regular doctor however at times it is not always possible. We will endeavour to fit you in an appointment with another doctor if your preferred doctor is not available, all doctors at Wakefield Gardens Surgery will strive to assist you with your medical needs.

Home visits are available and made at the discretion of the individual doctor. These appointments will incur a fee. Most of the doctors at Wakefield Gardens Surgery care for residents in aged care facilities in the local area.

RESULTS, PRESCRIPTIONS, REFERRALS
We recommend you make an appointment to discuss your results. Reception staff are unable to access and convey results. Requests for results will be referred to our practice nurses who can convey results and arrange follow up if required. Results may be given by SMS with prior consent; your Doctor will advise you of any urgent results and may ask a receptionist to contact you to organise a follow up appointment.
It is our preference that an appointment be made for repeat prescriptions and referrals. Where this is not possible, you can order these online without an appointment via HotDoc. Please allow up to 5 working days for your request to be completed.

Please note: results cannot be given to relatives without prearranged permission. This includes patients aged 14 years and over.

RECALLS & REMINDERS

The practice operates on a recall system for important results and follow up examinations. Patients are automatically included in this system unless they tell us otherwise. Please let the receptionists or your doctor know if you do not want to be contacted with recalls and reminders.
